From deep in central Asia comes a unique recording of traditional Tuvan "throat-singing", a technique said to be as old as nature itself, going back to when man made the first melodies imitating the murmurs of streams or the echoes in the mountains. Tuvans often compare this ancient vocal style to the language a child speaks to its mother. Shu-de! is the word a rider shouts to their horse, like "gee-up!" It also means "good" or "excellent" in appreciation of a musical performance. Performing these poignant, intimate folk songs and ritual chants of the shamans, Shu-de live up to their name and beyond drawing upon the energies accumulated by the shaman through a state of trance and calling the spirits of nature with traditional shamanistic instruments to allow them to speak to all living things.
