Geographic Film Project

Yungchen
Lhamo will be appearing as part of The All Roads Film Project which is a
new National Geographic initiative that provides a global platform for
indigenous and under-represented minority-culture filmmakers around the
world. The project is designed to showcase these filmmakers talents and to
introduce a broader audience to their culture.
The first film in the series is Milarepa. A
feature film about one of Tibet's greatest yogis and poet (Milarepa), also
made popular for his mysterious beginnings with black magic. The film is
stunning, shot from the heart of the mountains bordering Tibet and India,
and captures the dark, magical events of his tumultuous youth before
enlightenment (he kills his family and destroys the village, all with
magic).
Yungchen will sing in the theaters before the film's
US premier in Los Angeles at the Egyptian Theatre on September 28th and on
October 5 at the National Geographic Museum in Washington D.C.

DELTA HARDWARE by Charlie Musselwhite
The great bluesman returns to his Mississippi-by-way-of-Southside Chicago
roots, in songs that capture the raw emotion of electrified blues at its
best. Charlie incorporates all his experiences – from his days with Muddy
Waters and John Lee Hooker to recent musical friendships with Ben Harper
and Tom Waits – into this new batch of powerful, hard-rocking tunes. |

AMA
(“mother”) is dedicated to Yungchen Lhamo's mother, who suffered the
violence and persecution of the Chinese occupation. A musical document of
an exile living in the melting pot of New York City, this beautiful album
features guest appearances by singers Joy Askew and Annie Lennox — and
becomes that rare destination where East
happily meets West. No translators, or politicians, required.

"This is a request for help. We've had ties
with Pakistan from many years, particularly with Qawwali music and the
extraordinary voice of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. His family have generously
agreed to allow us to make available two tracks — one a collaboration with
Massive Attack, Mustt Mustt and one with myself Taboo, as a
download to raise money. So basically you are getting two extraordinary
pieces of music for the price of one!
We need a lot of downloads and we need you
to do a bit of marketing for us. So, if you could persuade say 10 of your
friends to do the same download we can get real money to real people
really fast. Please help us to help them!"
